Lucky Town, amusement park in Großpetersdorf
Lucky Town is an amusement park in Großpetersdorf, in the southern part of the Austrian state of Burgenland, built to look like a Wild West town from old movies. The grounds contain around 15 wooden buildings, including a saloon, a jail, a bank, and a candy shop, all with typical western-style facades.
Lucky Town was built as a themed leisure project in the Burgenland region, making it one of the few Wild West-style parks in Austria. It was set up to give families in the area a place to spend summer evenings together.
The saloon inside Lucky Town is decorated with wanted posters styled after the old Wild West, giving the space a look that feels pulled from an old movie set. Children can dress up at a face-painting stand or pretend to be sheriffs and outlaws as they move through the town.
Lucky Town opens on Monday evenings during June, July, and August, so a visit works best when planned for a summer evening. Children under 14 enter without paying, which makes it easy for families to come together.
The grounds have small tunnels built under wooden staircases that children can crawl through, as well as a raised wooden walkway that lets visitors look out over the whole western town. Hidden passages between the buildings add to the feeling of exploring a real place.
