Münze Hall

Münze Hall is a museum in Hasegg Castle dedicated to coin production. Visitors find historical tools, striking machines, and detailed explanations of metalwork and the various techniques used in coin manufacturing.

The mint facility began in the 15th century and produced silver coins for several hundred years, including famous Thalers. These coins later became the foundation for the name and development of American currency.

The museum displays how coins were made in earlier times, and visitors can follow the entire process by hand. The original equipment and still-functioning machinery give a direct sense of how craftspeople worked within these castle walls.

The museum is located within the castle grounds and is accessible by public transportation or car. Visitors should allow enough time to explore the exhibitions and demonstrations thoroughly.

Visitors can strike their own commemorative coins on site using historical machines that still function exactly as they did hundreds of years ago. This hands-on experience allows you to feel the craftsmanship and physical effort involved in this ancient work.
