Stoclet Palace, Private palace in Woluwe-Saint-Pierre, Belgium.
The building exterior combines rectangular blocks with polished stone, decorative tiles, copper elements, and bronze sculptures adorning its austere facade.
Constructed between 1905 and 1911 under architect Josef Hoffmann's direction, the palace became a symbol of Vienna Secession architecture in Belgium.
The interiors contain intricate mosaic friezes by Gustav Klimt, along with furniture and decor designed specifically for each room by Wiener Werkstätte artists.
The Brussels Parliament approved limited public access to Stoclet Palace for several days each year, with guided tours expected in the future.
The architect Josef Hoffmann designed a dress for Madame Stoclet to match the decor of her living room, demonstrating total design control.

Belgium preserves numerous historical sites and natural areas that remain outside the usual tourist circuits. The country contains medieval fortifications, castles from various periods, and protected areas that provide insight into its military and cultural past. The Hallerbos forest transforms into a blue carpet of Atlantic bluebells each spring. Fort Eben-Emael, once considered impregnable, documents 20th-century military architecture. The prehistoric flint mines of Spiennes, a UNESCO World Heritage site, testify to 6,000 years of mining history. These locations combine natural heritage with historical evidence and offer visitors the opportunity to discover lesser-known aspects of Belgium.
Art Deco buildings from the 1920s and 1930s display geometric patterns, metallic colors, and decorative elements. These structures demonstrate the architectural style through symmetry, vertical lines, and stepped forms. From skyscrapers in New York to theaters in Los Angeles, this guide documents significant examples of Art Deco architecture in cities worldwide.
