Saint John's Church

The stone church features a triple-nave structure, intricate woodcarved churchwardens' benches, and a substantial Sacrament Chapel equal in size to the original chancel.

The church construction began in the 14th century, with major renovations occurring between 1400 and 1450, followed by the addition of the Fontes Chapel in the 16th century.

The interior displays notable artworks, including a baroque triptych by Peter Paul Rubens depicting The Adoration of the Three Wise Men above the main altar.

The church opens Tuesday through Sunday from 13:00 to 17:00 between April and September, with shorter hours from October to March, remaining closed on Wednesdays.

Fourteenth-century wall paintings of Saint Christopher and Saint George remained hidden behind the organ case until their discovery in 2008 by the Flemish Heritage Institute.
