Church of Our Blessed Lady of the Sablon
Church of Our Blessed Lady of the Sablon, Gothic church in Sablon, Belgium
The church displays a Brabantine Gothic exterior with cross-shaped layout measuring 65 meters long, 37 meters wide, and 24 meters tall.
Construction started in the early 15th century when the Noble Serment of Crossbowmen received permission to build on their exercise grounds.
The church holds regular Catholic services and contains elaborate wooden carvings, including a pulpit created by Marc De Vos in 1697.
The church opens Monday through Friday from 9:00 to 18:30 and weekends from 10:00 to 19:00, with limited accessibility for wheelchair users.
Two Baroque chapels commissioned by the von Thurn und Taxis families in the 17th century feature distinct architectural elements within the Gothic structure.
