Minsk National Airport, International airport in Minsk Region, Belarus
Minsk National Airport is the main international airport in the Minsk region, featuring a runway approximately 3,640 meters (about 12,000 feet) long. The main terminal offers several departure levels and arrival halls with shops and services for travelers from around the world.
The airport opened in 1982, replacing the older Minsk-1 facility that had previously handled air traffic in the region. This relocation allowed Belarus to receive larger aircraft and open new international connections.
The terminal building reflects Belarus architectural design through the work of multiple local architects including Boris Larchenko and Yury Grigoryev.
The main carrier Belavia and other international airlines offer direct connections to destinations across Europe and Asia. The terminal is also accessible for travelers with reduced mobility and provides check-in counters and waiting areas on multiple levels.
The facility features a specialized air traffic management system that coordinates the entire airspace over Belarus. This system allows the airport to manage multiple routes simultaneously and ensure safety across the national airspace.
