Novalukoml is an administrative center in the Vitebsk Region situated near Lake Lukomlskoye. The town functions as a local hub with shops, schools, and public services for the surrounding population.
The settlement emerged in 1964 during construction of the Lukoml Power Station and received its current name in 1965. It was granted city status in 1970.
The population consists of 68.7% Belarusians, 12.3% Russians, 9% Tatars, and 3.6% Lithuanians, creating a diverse community in the Chashniki District.
