House of Soviets

The House of Soviets is a five-story stone structure with symmetrical wings, large columns, and wide staircases leading to the main entrance. The building stands at the intersection of Pervomaiskaya Street and Mira Avenue and currently serves as the regional administrative center.

The building was constructed between 1937 and 1939 during a period when Mogilev aimed to become the capital of Belarus. Its architecture followed the model of the Government Building in Minsk and reflects this ambitious moment in the city's history.

The building displays features of Soviet Constructivism with clear geometric forms and functional design that reflected administrative priorities of the 1930s.
