Puchavičy District, Administrative district in Minsk Region, Belarus
Puchavičy District spans across 2,441 square kilometers of land in eastern Belarus, with Marjina Horka serving as its administrative center at 161 meters elevation.
The district, established on June 17, 1924, underwent administrative changes when its capital shifted from Puchavičy to Marjina Horka on July 29, 1925.
Local poets and writers from the district, including Michaś Čarot and Hienadź Klaŭko, made significant contributions to Belarusian literature through their works.
The district maintains a population of 67,408 residents as of 2024, with 28,560 people living in urban areas and 38,848 in rural settlements.
The 5th Spetsnaz Brigade of the Belarusian Armed Forces has maintained its base in Marjina Horka since 1963, marking a long military presence.
