Belarusian State Archives - Museum of Literature and Arts

The Belarusian State Archives-Museum of Literature and Arts is a repository housing more than 500 collections of documents, manuscripts, and artistic works. The building provides access to handwritten records from poets, composers, and visual artists.

The institution was established in 1960 by decree of the Council of Ministers of the Belarusian Soviet Socialist Republic. Its creation marked a turning point in preserving the country's literary heritage.

The institution holds personal collections from writers and artists who shaped the country's cultural life. Visitors can explore how creators from literature and music developed their work.

The reading room is open Monday through Thursday from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM and Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:15 PM. Visitors should note that the archives are accessible on weekdays for research purposes and closed on weekends.

The archive maintains the Belarusian Collection of Ancient Charters, a rare assembly of medieval documents. Since 2001, the institution has organized annual literary readings and archival study sessions.
