Grands-Jardins National Park

The park encompasses 318.9 square kilometers of mountains, forests, and alpine wetlands featuring over 120 bodies of water within two major watersheds.

Before becoming a national park in 1981, the territory operated as a logging site from 1939, with forestry activities covering 39 percent of the area.

The territory features former private fishing clubs and an English resort along Murray River, reflecting recreational traditions of the Quebec wilderness.

Visitors access thirty kilometers of hiking paths and multiple lakes for fishing native trout species throughout spring, summer, and fall seasons.

The park contains taiga environments typically found in northern Quebec, with 200 lichen species and fifteen types of heather growing at southern latitudes.
