Saint-Joseph-de-la-Rive Shipyard

The museum showcases wooden schooners and maritime exhibits in a former shipyard facility, featuring traditional vessels and interactive maritime displays alongside the Saint Lawrence River.

The shipyard, established in 1946, played a central role in constructing vessels for regional cargo transport between the Saint Lawrence River and the Great Lakes.

The museum preserves the knowledge of shipbuilding techniques passed through generations, displaying three wooden schooners that represent regional maritime engineering excellence.

Located at 305 Rue de l'Église, the facility includes electric charging stations, outdoor game areas, picnic spaces, and a 4-kilometer nature trail.

The museum features the first virtual theater inside a schooner hold, where visitors experience multimedia presentations about maritime navigation and cargo transport.
