Reichenbach Falls, Waterfall in Switzerland
The Reichenbach Falls are a series of waterfalls on the Reichenbach stream in the Bernese Oberland region of Switzerland.
They gained worldwide renown when Arthur Conan Doyle used them as the backdrop for the final confrontation between Sherlock Holmes and Professor Moriarty in 'The Final Problem'.
The falls have become a popular tourist destination, particularly among fans of Sherlock Holmes.
A funicular railway, the Reichenbachfall-Bahn, operates during the summer months and takes visitors to the top of the falls.
At 250 meters high, they are one of the highest waterfalls in the Alps.
