Ofenhorn, Mountain summit in Valais, Switzerland and Piedmont, Italy

The Ofenhorn rises to an elevation of 3,235 meters between the valleys of Binn and Formazza in the Lepontine Alps range.

The first documented ascent of this mountain, also known as Punta d'Arbola, occurred in 1864 during early Alpine exploration expeditions.

Local populations in both Swiss and Italian territories maintain traditional Alpine customs, including seasonal mountain festivals and regional cheese production.

Mountain climbers reach the summit through established routes from late spring to early autumn, with several mountain huts providing overnight accommodations.

The mountain contains mineral deposits of albite, anatase, aragonite, brookite, calcite, chalcopyrite, dolomite, enargite, fluorite, and numerous other specimens.
