The MUDAC museum occupies a modern white concrete building with glass facades, designed by architects Francisco and Manuel Aires Mateus at Plateforme 10.
Founded in 1862 as the Industrial Museum with 2000 objects in four sections, the institution transformed through multiple names before becoming MUDAC in 2000.
The museum maintains collections of contemporary design, glass art, modern jewelry, ceramics, and graphic arts, representing current artistic movements and innovations.
Located near Lausanne train station, MUDAC presents temporary exhibitions and organizes artistic events, with guided tours available for different audience groups.
The Federal Design Prize winners exhibit their works at MUDAC every two years, making it central to Swiss design recognition and advancement.
