Gorges de l'Areuse, River canyon in Neuchâtel, Switzerland.

The Areuse River flows through a limestone gorge stretching 11 kilometers between Noiraigue and Boudry, featuring natural rock formations and waterfalls.

The limestone formations of the gorge developed during the Alpine mountain formation process, creating deep valleys and high ridges in the Jura region.

The gorge contains several hydroelectric plants that represent the industrial development of the Neuchâtel region during the early twentieth century.

Walking trails along the gorge connect three main access points - Boudry, Champ-du-Moulin, and Noiraigue - all accessible by public transportation.

The Saut de Brot stone bridge spans across the gorge, providing a crossing point where visitors can observe the river flowing 472 meters above sea level.
