Spring Temple Buddha, Buddhist statue in Henan, China
The Spring Temple Buddha is a colossal statue depicting Vairocana Buddha, located in the Zhaocun township of Lushan County, Henan, China.
Completed in 2008, it is currently the second tallest statue in the world.
The statue was built as a response to the destruction of the Bamiyan Buddhas by the Taliban in Afghanistan.
The site includes the Buddhist monastery Foquan Temple, which houses the Bell of Good Luck, the largest functioning bell in the world.
The total height of the monument, including the pedestal and the statue, reaches 153 meters (502 ft).
