Palyul, Tibetan Buddhist monastery in China
The Palyul Monastery is one of the six great Nyingma schools of Tibetan Buddhism.
It was founded by Kunzang Sherab in 1665 amid the rugged terrain of Tibet.
Palyul is renowned for its Kama tradition that includes teachings derived from revealed scriptures.
Located in Garzê Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, access to Palyul may require special travel permits.
Its annual Cham Dance Festival is a spectacular event showcasing vibrant costumes and masked dances.
