Shishou Yangtze River Bridge, bridge in People's Republic of China
Welcome to the Shishou Yangtze River Bridge, also known as the Shishou Yangtze River Highway Bridge. This bridge is located in the city of Shishou in Hubei Province, China. It is a cable-stayed bridge that spans the Yangtze River and connects the north bank's Dayuan Town with the south bank's Dongsheng Town. The bridge is a key project in the planning of the Hubei Province highway network, specifically the ZaoYang to ShiShou expressway. The total length of the bridge is 2,670 meters, with the main bridge being a double-tower single-side mixed-beam cable-stayed bridge that is 1,440 meters long, with a main span of 820 meters. The bridge was constructed according to the standard of a six-lane expressway in both directions, with a design speed of 100 kilometers per hour and a width of 33.5 meters. The estimated total investment for the bridge is 2.2 billion yuan, and it was built using the BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) + EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) method. The construction period was between four to five years, and the toll collection period will not exceed 30 years. The starting point of the bridge and its connecting roads is at the intersection of the ZaoShi Expressway Qianjiang to Jiangling section and the 103 Provincial Road (Hansha Line). The route continues southward and intersects with the 219 Provincial Road (Jingxin Line), crosses the northern embankment of the Yangtze River, enters the territory of Shishou, and intersects with the 220 Provincial Road (Qinhuang Line) after 3.5 kilometers on the west side of Henggou Town. The route continues southward and intersects with the People's Dayuan Flood Diversion Area embankment, crosses the Yuanzi Kou ancient channel, and crosses the Yangtze River at Beinian Village. After crossing the river, the route passes through the middle of Yazi Lake and Huangjiaguai Lake, crosses the southern embankment of the Yangtze River, intersects with the 221 Provincial Road (Gongshi Line) at Yijiapu Village, and sets up an interchange. The route then turns southwest and runs along the west side of Bailian Lake, with the endpoint being located on the west side of Gaojimiao Town in Shishou City, intersecting with the Yueyang to Yichang Expressway Shishou to Songzi section that is currently under construction. The total length of the route is 40.4731 kilometers. The Shishou Yangtze River Bridge is not only a transportation hub but also a tourist attraction. Visitors can enjoy the magnificent view of the Yangtze River from the bridge, which is especially beautiful during sunrise and sunset.
