Taohuayu Yellow River Bridge

Welcome to the Taohuayu Yellow River Bridge, a suspension bridge that spans across the Yellow River on the Zhengyun Expressway. This bridge is located at the southern end of Taohuayu in Guangwu Town, Xingyang City, and at the northern end of Gedangdian Township in Wuzhi County. It was opened to traffic on September 27, 2013. The Taohuayu Yellow River Bridge consists of several sections from north to south, including the north side dike outer approach bridge, the dike-spanning bridge, the north side dike inner approach bridge, the auxiliary bridge, the main bridge, and the south approach bridge. The total length of the bridge is 7702.89 meters. The main bridge is a double-tower, three-span self-anchored suspension bridge with a main span of 406 meters and a standard width of 33 meters. When it was completed, it was the world's largest self-anchored suspension bridge with the longest span, and also the only suspension bridge on the Yellow River at that time. The dike-spanning bridge adopts a variable cross-section waveform steel web plate three-span continuous box girder with a total length of 285 meters (75+135+75). The auxiliary bridge adopts a 10-hole 80-meter variable cross-section prestressed concrete rigid frame continuous beam bridge. The dike inner approach bridge adopts a 50-meter equal cross-section prestressed concrete continuous beam bridge. The outer approach bridge and the south approach bridge adopt a 30-meter precast prestressed concrete small box girder bridge, which is simply supported first and then continuous. The bridge deck is a two-way six-lane highway with a designed speed of 100 kilometers per hour. In 2015, the Taohuayu Yellow River Bridge won the second prize for excellent design projects in highway transportation from the China Highway Survey and Design Association. Visitors to the Taohuayu Yellow River Bridge can enjoy the stunning views of the Yellow River and the surrounding landscapes. The bridge is a popular spot for photography and sightseeing, especially during sunrise and sunset. Visitors can also take a walk or bike ride along the bridge deck to experience the magnificent engineering feat up close. To get to the Taohuayu Yellow River Bridge, visitors can take the Zhengyun Expressway and exit at the Taohuayu interchange. From there, follow the signs to the bridge. Parking is available near the bridge for visitors who wish to explore the area on foot.
