The 67-meter-tall monument features a golden bronze statue of Victoria standing at its peak, supported by a granite and sandstone column in neoclassical style.

The column commemorates Prussian military successes, initially placed near the Reichstag in 1873 before being relocated to its current location during the 1930s.

The bronze goddess figure at the top received the nickname Golden Elsie from Berlin residents, representing the intersection between formal monuments and local character.

Visitors can climb 285 steps to reach the observation platform, which provides views across Tiergarten park and central Berlin districts.

The monument contains four sections of granite drums decorated with captured Danish, Austrian, and French military equipment cast in bronze from melted cannons.
