Mitte

Mitte is the central borough of Berlin, encompassing the historic core of the city with a mixture of old buildings and modern structures reflecting centuries of urban development and change.

Established by the Greater Berlin Act in 1920, Mitte was divided by the Berlin Wall from 1961 to 1990, with Checkpoint Charlie serving as a key crossing point between East and West Berlin.
