Berlin-Wedding station

The Berlin-Wedding station features orange tiled walls and serves both S-Bahn lines S41 and S42, as well as the U-Bahn line U6 in Berlin-Mitte.

First opened on May 1, 1872, as part of the Berlin Ringbahn, the station ceased operations during the Berlin Wall period until its restoration in 2002.

The station's name originates from the 12th-century nobleman Rudolf de Weddinghe, creating an interesting connection with the English word for marriage ceremonies.

The station provides accessibility through two elevators and an escalator, with five ticket machines and multiple bus connections for efficient travel throughout Berlin.

During the station's reopening on June 16, 2002, locals informally named the celebration Wedding Day, creating a playful double meaning in English.
