Nordic embassies, Joint government building in Tiergarten, Germany
The Nordic Embassies complex contains separate buildings for Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden, connected by a copper band surrounding the structures.
The embassies opened in 1999 following German reunification, replacing separate diplomatic missions that operated during the Cold War period in different Berlin locations.
The Felleshus serves as a central meeting point where the embassies organize exhibitions, concerts, film screenings, and educational programs about Nordic societies.
The buildings maintain their geographical positioning relative to each other, with three water basins representing the North and Baltic Seas between them.
Each embassy structure features materials from its respective country, such as Norwegian granite, Icelandic red liparit, and Finnish larch wood elements.
