Leuchtturm Geestemole Nord

The brick lighthouse stands 14 meters tall at the entrance of the Geeste River, featuring a red lantern visible from considerable distances at sea.

The structure, built between 1912 and 1914, replaced an earlier 8-meter lighthouse from 1857 during the expansion of Bremerhaven harbor facilities.

The lighthouse received protection status as a cultural heritage monument in 2001, recognizing its role in Bremen's maritime development and architecture.

Visitors can access the lighthouse area through the waterfront promenade, which provides opportunities to observe maritime activities and harbor operations.

In August 2022, the lighthouse tilted eight degrees due to a mole collapse and was removed, with plans for an exact reconstruction by 2025.
