Pomeranzen garden, Renaissance garden in Leonberg, Germany
The Pomeranzen garden features bitter orange trees arranged in geometric patterns alongside ornamental plants and traditional landscaping elements.
During the 17th century, the garden served as a representation of wealth for Duke Friedrich I of Württemberg, who commissioned its construction in 1609.
The garden maintains the traditional cultivation methods of bitter orange trees, which require specific temperature conditions and seasonal indoor-outdoor transitions.
Visitors can access the garden from April through October, with guided tours explaining the cultivation techniques of Citrus aurantium trees.
The garden includes specially designed wooden containers for moving the citrus trees between outdoor displays and winter protection areas.
