Sanatorium, Architectural heritage monument in Bad Kissingen, Germany.
The Sanatorium structure spans two addresses on Menzelstraße, featuring a baroque-inspired Art Nouveau architectural design with geometric patterns and reinforced concrete construction.
Built in 1906 by Berlin physician Dr. Edgar Apolant, the facility expanded between 1912 and 1913 with an additional building designed by architect Paul Schultze-Naumburg.
The building contains a memorial stone honoring Ella Apolant, who worked at the facility before her deportation to Theresienstadt ghetto during World War II.
The structure carries designation D-6-72-114-67 in the Bavarian monument register and stands at coordinates 50°11'47.4N, 10°4'52.3E in Bad Kissingen.
The local regulations specifically prohibit residential use of the building, which has led to multiple failed attempts at redevelopment since its closure in 1978.
