St. Ulrich's and St. Afra's Abbey, Gothic basilica in central Augsburg, Germany.

The basilica extends 93.5 meters in length, rises 30 meters high, and features a bell tower topped with a distinctive onion dome.

Established in the 10th century, the abbey gained imperial status in 1577 and controlled 112 square kilometers of territory until its dissolution in 1802.

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart performed an organ concert at this location on October 18, 1777, marking a significant musical event in the basilica's history.

The basilica contains the sarcophagi of Saint Ulrich and Saint Afra in its crypt, which visitors can access during regular opening hours.

French soldiers converted the abbey into a military hospital in 1805, leading to the departure of monks after several members succumbed to diseases.
