Transformatorenhaus, Technology museum in Lohr am Main, Germany
The Transformatorenhaus displays more than 6,000 electrical insulators across two floors of a former transformer station measuring 2.5 by 2.5 meters.
Built in 1920 as a transformer tower, the building was converted into a museum in 2004 to showcase the advancement of electrical infrastructure.
The collection includes porcelain and glass insulators from 40 countries, representing the evolution of power transmission technology through the 20th century.
The museum opens every first Sunday of the month from 2 PM to 5 PM, with additional visits possible through advance arrangements.
The exhibit features insulators ranging from small fence components to massive 500-kilogram units designed for high-voltage power lines up to 380 kV.
