Schloss Helmsdorf, Manor house in Stolpen, Germany
The Renaissance building features two stories with a round staircase tower and a terrace that overlooks the garden extending to Wesenitz River.
In 1906, banker Charles Friedrich Schmieder acquired the property and commissioned architects William Lossow and Max Hans Kühne for extensive renovations completed in 1909.
The manor maintains its Renaissance portal from the previous structure and represents architectural elements typical of Saxon country estates from the early 1900s.
The estate currently functions as a venue for cultural events through the Horizont association and provides accommodations in holiday apartments.
The property includes a baking school established in 1937 near the entrance, which remained operational throughout different political periods in German history.
