Église de la Très-Sainte-Trinité de Germigny-des-Prés

The church features a Greek cross layout with three oriented apses and a three-level tower lantern illuminating the interior through barrel vaults.

Bishop Theodulf of Orleans commissioned the construction of this religious edifice between 803 and 806 as part of thirteen new churches in the Fleury monastic domain.

The eastern apse contains the only remaining original Carolingian mosaic in France, depicting the Holy Ark blessed by the hand of God.

The church, located at 4 Venelle de l'Église, receives 53,000 visitors annually and maintains regular opening hours for religious services and tourist visits.

The architectural design incorporates Eastern influences, particularly Armenian elements, through the work of architect Odo of Metz who also advised Charlemagne.
