Musée Carnavalet, Museum in Paris, France
The Musée Carnavalet is dedicated to the history of Paris and its inhabitants.
Founded in 1880, it's housed in two neighboring mansions: the Hôtel Carnavalet and the former Hôtel Le Peletier de Saint Fargeau.
The museum displays collections from the transformation of the village of Lutèce, which was inhabited by the Parisii tribes, to the grand city of today.
It offers a large number of rooms, each representing a different period or theme related to the history of Paris.
The museum also houses the original iconic sign of the jeweler Cartier.
