Viaur Viaduct, Railroad bridge in Tauriac-de-Naucelle, France

The Viaur Viaduct spans 460 meters across the river valley, featuring a central arch made of steel trusses that reaches a height of 116 meters.

Engineer Paul Bodin designed this railway bridge in 1887 through a competition, and construction was completed in 1902 by the Société de construction des Batignolles.

The bridge construction process influenced local literature, appearing in the novel Lo Pan de Froment and inspiring artist H.-M. Magne's artwork depicting workers.

Three observation points along the Viaur Valley, including Aire du Gô and aire Paul Bodin, provide different perspectives for viewing the steel structure.

The central span of 220 meters uses two balanced frameworks that meet in the middle, allowing the structure to adjust to loads, temperature changes, and wind.
