St Martin's Church, Colmar, Gothic collegiate church in Colmar, France

The church features a square bell tower with a Renaissance helmet, colored tile roof, and multiple portals decorated with sculpted tympana.

Founded in 1234, St Martin's Church was built over two previous structures, including a Carolingian church from 1000 AD and a Romanesque building.

The interior holds medieval altars, Gothic stained glass windows, including a 13th-century beardless Christ, and a Baroque organ case from 1755.

The church spans 78 meters in length, reaches 20 meters in height, and contains a 71-meter steeple visible across the Colmar cityscape.

Archaeological excavations in 1972 uncovered the foundations of two earlier churches beneath the current Gothic structure, revealing centuries of religious architecture.
