Château d'Aulan

The castle stands on a rocky outcrop above the Toulourenc valley, presenting a nineteenth-century architectural design influenced by Viollet-Le-Duc style.

The castle's foundation dates to the twelfth century, and in 1635 it became part of the Suarez family through Isabeau de L'Espine's marriage to François-Marie Suarez.

The interior rooms display numerous artifacts and furnishings from the Second Empire period, preserving the heritage of the Suarez d'Aulan family through generations.

The castle offers 45-minute guided tours in English and French, with special rates for groups of more than ten people and free entry for children under nine.

Arthur Suarez d'Aulan, who redesigned the castle, introduced Austrian pine trees to the region for reforestation purposes while serving as Mayor and Parliament Member.
