Castle of Eaucourt-sur-Somme

The stone fortification stands on elevated ground near the Somme River, featuring remaining walls and architectural elements from different construction periods.

The castle's initial construction dates to the 13th century, with records from 1301 mentioning its chapel dedicated to Saint Margherite under Philippe II's fortification program.

The castle serves as an educational center where students participate in medieval craft workshops, including stone cutting, vaulting, and leather working techniques.

Educational programs run from September to March for general public, while school groups can visit from late March through early July at 230 euros per class.

The Association for the Restoration of the Château d'Eaucourt, founded in 1983, maintains the site and organizes crossbow shooting demonstrations for children.
