Castle of Terre Neuve, Renaissance castle in Fontenay-le-Comte, France

The castle features Renaissance architecture with decorated porches, ornate woodwork, and two historical doors from the era of François I.

Nicolas Rapin, High Provost of the Constables of France and companion to Henry IV, initiated the construction of this castle in 1584.

The castle maintains a collection of Renaissance furnishings and architectural elements gathered from various French monuments during the 19th century.

The estate covers 5 hectares with green spaces, offering guided tours and a shop selling knight figurines and historical souvenirs.

Marquis Octave de Rochebrune created 492 etchings within the castle grounds, documenting major French monuments of the 19th century.
