Château d'Essendiéras

The estate encompasses two distinct castles situated within a 400-hectare domain, featuring a 15th-century manor house and a 19th-century residence separated by ten meters.

Pierre Antoine Pouquet obtained the property in 1794 during the French Revolution, when he served as president of the revolutionary committee for Excideuil district.

The architecture combines medieval defensive elements with later residential modifications, displaying the evolution of French noble housing from fortified to comfortable living spaces.

The château provides accommodation options including holiday homes, rooms, suites, apartments, and features a 9-hole golf course with training facilities.

In 2019, the estate integrated modern sustainability by installing 39,000 solar panels across 18 hectares of former apple orchards.
