Plan d'eau de Rustrel, Artificial lake in Rustrel, France

The Rustrel reservoir contains 200,000 cubic meters of water with an average depth of six meters, supplied by the Piédenaygue ravine.

The construction of the water reservoir was completed in 1994 by Rustrel municipality before its transfer to the department and management by Canal de Provence Society.

The reservoir functions as a central element in local agricultural life, enabling irrigation of cultivated lands for ten farmers in the region.

Fire trucks and helicopters can access the reservoir to collect water for fighting forest fires in the surrounding areas.

A specialized filtration system prevents fish from entering the pumps while maintaining water supply for irrigation purposes.
