Écomusée de l'île de Groix

The museum occupies a former tuna canning factory at the end of the quay, displaying boats, models, drawings, paintings, and traditional fishing instruments.

The museum opened in 1984 after the municipality acquired the Romieux tuna canning factory, marking Groix's significance as France's first tuna fishing port.

More than 350 local families contributed 80 percent of the museum's collection, including historical photographs, traditional costumes, and everyday objects from island life.

The museum operates from April to October, with extended hours during summer months, offering both self-guided visits at 5 euros and guided tours at 7 euros.

Visitors can explore the combined ticket option to visit both the museum and a traditional fisherman-farmer house in Kerlard village, presenting early 20th-century island life.
