Site médiéval du Vieux Bourg de L'Abergement-Clémenciat

The archaeological remains include circular mounds, an adjacent platform, and a brick enclosure with five towers spanning 190 by 130 meters.

The fortified site, first documented in the 14th century, belonged to the Chabeu family who built new fortifications near the parish center in 1304.

The site integrates different architectural elements from medieval France, including earthen fortifications, defensive towers, and religious structures with a cemetery.

Located at coordinates 46.1589617, 4.9191091, the site requires prior arrangement for visits as it stands on private property.

The eastern wall features a pointed arch postern gate and contains three preserved towers from the original five-tower defensive system.
