Église Notre Dame de l'Assomption, Metz, Baroque church in Metz, France.

The Notre Dame de l'Assomption church displays a two-story facade with Doric columns, following the architectural patterns of Jesuit religious buildings in Paris.

The church, originally built as a Calvinist temple in 1576, underwent conversion to a Jesuit establishment in 1642 under the decree of King Louis XIII.

The interior preserves confessionals from the 18th century, large paintings, and stained glass windows created by Laurent-Charles Maréchal and Louis-Napoléon Gugnon in 1840.

The church maintains regular opening hours and offers guided tours that explain its architectural elements and religious significance within the Metz community.

French poet Paul Verlaine received baptism in this church in 1844, connecting the religious monument to French literary heritage.
