Pipe organ of Candé castle, Pipe organ at Château de Candé, France

The Skinner organ contains 1,812 pipes distributed across 27 stops, featuring materials such as wood, tin, lead, and animal hide throughout its construction.

Ernest Martin Skinner manufactured this residential organ in 1928 for Charles Bedaux, and Marcel Dupré performed at its inauguration in August 1930.

The organ performed during the marriage ceremony of the Duke of Windsor and Wallis Simpson in 1937, marking a notable moment in British royal history.

After undergoing extensive restoration between 2005 and 2012, the organ returned to operation, maintaining its original mechanical and musical specifications.

This instrument represents one of three functioning Skinner residential organs remaining worldwide, incorporating both manual and automatic roll-playing capabilities.
