Veryovkina Cave, Deepest cave in Abkhazia
The Veryovkina Cave is a karst cave located in the Arabika Massif of the Gagra Range of Western Caucasus, in the Gudauta District of Abkhazia.
It was discovered in 1968 by Georgian speleologists and named after Alexander Veryovkin, who died in another cave in 1983.
The cave is considered a significant point of interest for speleologists and geologists worldwide.
The cave's depth of 2,212 meters makes it the deepest-known cave on Earth.
The cave has a vertical range of over 2 kilometers, making it one of the few caves in the world with such a large vertical extent.
