Badiar National Park

The national park spans 37,000 hectares of savanna, open woodlands, and gallery forest along the border with Senegal in western Guinea.

The establishment of Badiar National Park in 1985 stemmed from conservation efforts during the colonial period when classified forests protected the region.

Local communities participate in natural resource management activities within the park's buffer zone, which covers an area of 5,916 square kilometers.

The rainy season occurs from June to October, with annual rainfall between 1,000 and 1,500 millimeters concentrated during these months.

The park forms a continuous protected area with Senegal's Niokolo-Koba National Park, creating a cross-border conservation zone for endangered species.
