Tiferet Yisrael Synagogue, Synagogue in Jerusalem
The Tiferet Yisrael Synagogue, also known as the Nissan Beck Synagogue, is one of the most outstanding synagogues in the Old City of Jerusalem.
Built in the 19th century, it was destroyed by the Jordanians during the 1948 Arab-Israeli War and is currently under reconstruction.
It was a central place of worship for the local Jewish community and a symbol of the Jewish presence in Jerusalem.
Its reconstruction is expected to be completed in 2023.
The synagogue's dome was once one of the most prominent features of Jerusalem's skyline.
