Coral World Underwater Observatory, Underwater observatory and marine park in Eilat, Israel.
Coral World Underwater Observatory is a marine park facility in Eilat with two observation towers submerged 6 meters below sea level. These towers provide direct underwater views of the Red Sea's fish and coral ecosystems in their natural state.
The facility opened in 1974 using innovative engineering to build observation towers that were then submerged in seawater. This pioneering approach made it one of the region's first underwater viewing installations.
The Peace Terrace serves as a gathering place where visitors can see across borders and reflect on shared waters. It embodies how this location bridges different peoples through a single view of the sea.
Visits are best during clear weather when sunlight illuminates the underwater life effectively. Coming in the morning hours provides the clearest water visibility for observing the marine environment.
The circular exhibit contains about 360,000 liters of water housing hundreds of fish species in a contained tank system. This artificial setting allows visitors to see rare species they might not encounter in open waters.
