The cathedral presents a white marble facade with three portals, four Corinthian pilasters, and a triangular pediment adorned with statues of saints.
The original paleochristian structure burned down in 894, leading to a reconstruction in Romanesque style between 1395 and 1401 under Francesco IV Gonzaga.
The Latin cross interior contains five naves separated by Corinthian columns, with side chapels decorated by Mannerist painters from the Mantuan school.
The cathedral opens daily from 7:00 to 12:00 and from 15:00 to 19:00, offering visitors access to its art collection and architectural features.
The building combines three distinct architectural styles: a late Baroque facade, Gothic lateral walls, and a Romanesque bell tower from different construction periods.
