The Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi or 'Fountain of the Four Rivers' is a fountain in the Piazza Navona in Rome, Italy.
Designed in 1651 by Gian Lorenzo Bernini for Pope Innocent X, it represents four major rivers of the four continents through which papal authority had spread.
The fountain has been featured in several works of literature and film, including Dan Brown's 'Angels & Demons'.
It's a popular tourist attraction and is located in close proximity to other historical sites in Rome.
The fountain is topped with an Egyptian obelisk.
