Temple of Saturn, Ancient Roman temple in Rome.
The Temple of Saturn is a monument dedicated to the agricultural deity Saturn.
Built in 497 BC, it's one of the oldest sacred places in Rome.
It served as the treasury (aerarium) of the Roman Republic.
Today, only eight columns and a partial podium remain.
Every December 17, the Romans celebrated the Saturnalia, a festival in honor of Saturn.
